The Maori Tattoo Studio website

A website for a Tallinn tattoo and piercing studio in five languages: style and service pages, a gallery with load-more, and a booking form that accepts a sketch. Server rendering, hreflang and local-business structured data.

Maori Tattoo Studio is a tattoo and piercing studio in the SadaMarket building beside the Tallinn passenger port. The brief was a site that works for a local client and for a visitor stepping off a ferry alike: look at the work, ask about the price, book a time.

What we did

We built the site in five languages — Estonian, English, Russian, Finnish and Swedish. Each language sits on its own URL with hreflang markup and a visible switcher. Finnish and Swedish are not an afterthought here but an audience: the ferry terminals are a short walk away.

Services were split into separate pages by style and type, so somebody searching specifically for fine line, realism or a cover-up lands on the right page rather than on a general list. The gallery loads further work on a button press, which keeps the home page light.

  • Five language versions with hreflang and a language switcher
  • Style and service pages: artistic, realism, fine line, traditional, cover-up
  • Piercing and ear-piercing pages
  • A gallery with load-more
  • A booking form with sketch or reference upload (PNG, JPG, GIF, PDF)
  • A contact block: phone, email, social channels, opening hours and parking
  • Gift card, walk-in and aftercare pages

The technical side

Next.js 16, React 19.2 and TypeScript. Pages are rendered on the server and images are served in modern formats at several sizes — on a gallery-heavy site that is where Core Web Vitals are won or lost. The form checks file type and size before anything is sent.

  • Server rendering with routing-based language handling
  • Image optimisation and lazy loading in the gallery
  • File upload in the form with type and size checks
  • Mobile first: most visitors arrive on a phone

Visibility in search and answer engines

People find a studio through a local query or a question along the lines of “how much does it cost”. So we added LocalBusiness and Service structured data carrying the address, opening hours and contacts, a pricing page that answers the question directly, and FAQ blocks alongside each service.

An llms.txt file and short, quotable paragraphs make the content available to answer engines that reply without a click through to the site. We promise no rankings and no visitor counts — what we take care of is that the facts are machine-readable and correct.

Own admin panel and analytics

The studio manages the content itself: pages, gallery, pricing information, menus and the texts of all five languages live in an admin panel built on the same Next.js and TypeScript foundation as the site. Booking enquiries, sketches included, arrive in the same panel instead of getting lost in an inbox.

  • Pages, gallery and service texts in five languages
  • Enquiries with attachments in one list
  • Menus and site settings without a developer
  • Built-in analytics with no cookies
  • Google Analytics 4 alongside, where it is needed

Analytics is part of the site itself: no cookies are set, no consent banner is needed and the data stays on the client's server. The panel shows visitors, sessions, pages viewed, bounce rate and the channel people arrived from.

Where it stands

The studio has a site that speaks to a visitor in their own language, shows the work without a wait, and leads to the form or the phone. Adding a style page or new gallery work no longer needs a developer.
